Querreque started playing the jarana at the age of 7 in his hometown of Santiago Tuxtla, Veracruz.

He played in the First Meeting of Jaraneros in Santiago Tuxtla, with Río Crecido and went on to play in groups such as Son de Madera, Meztli, Ramita de Cedro, Relicario, Tres Zapotes and Quebranto, directed by Rubí Oseguera.
